Under Data Management we understand three main things:
Ø Data Integrity: basically making sure that all relevant data is captured in a clear structure in a system, and there is a clear “source of truth” when something is in multiple systems. For ROITI, one of our focuses when we consult the integration of ETRM systems is exactly this – the right data in the right place at the right time.
Ø Data Handling: be it in a reporting database or a data warehouse, the data from multiple sources needs to be stored, tracked over time, and managed in a robust and flexible manner. Designing solutions around market data, risk reporting, or transaction lifecycle reporting is in ROITI’s focus.
Ø Data Visualization: once data is somehow handled, the value adding activities is in using it. Visualization is becoming more of a topic with increased frequency of trading, increased complexity of products and portfolios, and changing requirements with respect to what information is valuable. Hence, on top of the know how we have built around data handling, we have gained knowledge in the leading BI tools – Power BI, Qlik, and Tableau. We believe that there are a number of issues that can be addressed via a combined data management approach – among which governance, performance, and data quality.
