Self-Service Model Calculation Platform

As most energy trading organizations, our client has realized that data is increasingly important to obtain a competitive edge towards the competition in a high-paced and liquid market. ROITI was approached to help with the integration of both structured and non-structured data into a single, high-availability platform, which is easy to use by the business departments without extensive IT support. We have supported the client in every part of the development and operational lifecycle – design, develop, test and subsequent maintenance and continuous improvement.

The project was kicked off by setting the key design principles, centred around the idea of a PaaS, where language-agnostic scripts can be executed, and different business needs, and tools for model calculations and reporting can be easily integrated. To make the platform future-proof the data was stored to be AI-ready for machine learning both for stream and batch processing. The flexibility and extendibility of the platform was ensured by a microservices, cloud-native architecture. The data feeds were optimized for Power BI reporting, which is used as a visualization tool company wide.
